The FinRegLab AI Symposium is a forum for collaborative dialogue at the nexus of financial innovation, public policy, the market, and society. Attendees included policymakers, technology leaders, banking and fintech executives, consumer advocates, and nonprofits to explore how we can, and should, deploy AI across the financial system to reap its powerful capabilities that are good for financial companies, the broader economy, and individuals and small businesses.
2026 is an important year. As private sector competition heats up and AI begins to reshape the economy and our communities, now is the time to make investments in AI that improve people’s financial lives. These investments will help shape the future of banking, the workplace, and economic opportunity for decades to come.
This year’s FinRegLab AI Symposium will be an exclusive gathering of the nation’s leading AI thinkers exploring the urgent and unresolved questions surrounding AI’s economic impacts, who benefits, who bears the costs, and whether the gains will be broadly shared. The conversations will focus on four themes:
Economic transformation, including how AI is reshaping the economy, jobs, the role of large institutions and small firms alike, and how to build toward an inclusive future;
Next-wave capabilities, including agentic commerce, payments, and personal financial management tools, as well as new credit and risk models —and what these shifts mean for people and business models;
Policymaking in the age of transformation: legal and regulatory actions that address innovation, market competition, consumer protection, and financial safety and soundness in a rapidly evolving technology landscape; and
Human-centered design, featuring bold ideas for ensuring the financial and social well-being of people and small businesses in a more automated future.
